If the universe is expanding, it must be expanding into something. If I could see beyond the edge, what would I see?

i think it's a cliff...give an example like a balloon..when we fill it with air,its expanding from the inside but if we look the balloon itself, outside the balloon is nothing...thats y i think its a cliff..hehe^^
